En route to Kiama

Think we were beginning to put down roots in Huskisson as it's been a wrench to move on after 4 lovely days here. Before we left, we walked part of the White Sands walk along Nelson's to Blenheim beaches.

Moving to the northern part of Jervis Bay, Callala Beach & Bay, a sheltered harbour for sailing boats.

(Jervis Bay itself is actually 5 times larger in volume than Sydney Harbour.)

The land in the far northern part of the bay, Beecroft Peninsula, is designated  naval training grounds.
The journey to Kiama is around 85 km, so no rush & time to explore along the way.

Culburra Beach & out to Penguin Head with an almost 360 degree view of the ocean - a fantastic place to whale watch in the migration season. We have left the calm waters of  Jervis Bay behind us now & we are back to the wild, white capped ocean.

Through Nowra & onto the scenic Grand Pacific route. Passing rolling hillsides, mountains in the background. Dairy farming & wineries along the way - very picturesque.

Gerroa & Seven Mile Beach where Charles Kingsford Smith landed after his record breaking flight to New Zealand in 1933.

Gerringong with its panorama of hillside grazing land meeting rugged coastline.

Kiama, one of the largest towns we've stayed in (pop 12,500 ) our appartment is central & the original building dates from1890 when it was a large house, now converted into 6 flats. All mod cons & 400m from the bay.
