Lakes Entrance, Metung & Lake Tyers

Exploring Lakes Entrance - motor cruisers, sailing boats, sun fish, jet skis, canoes.....you name it in water transport & it's here! The way to explore is on the water, but we have walked, driven, then walked some more. It is an amazing stretch of waterways, with the ocean just the other side of the sand dunes (90 Mile Beach) so you can walk from surf beaches to calm lake adding to the list of amazing wildlife along the way.

I won the "spotter's badge" today for a river dolphin ! Didn't get a pic of him, but here's a black swan instead ! Tonight we must have seen over 100 of them gathering on the shore line at dusk.

Driving out from Lakes Entrance to Metung which used to be a fishing port but now a tourist destination for boat owners, not at all commercialised. Gorgeous lakeside houses with private jetties. Walking to Shaving Point along the boardwalk, where we saw the dolphin, Lake King on one side, Bancroft Bay on the other. On to Lake Tyers, so pretty with the sand, lake & ocean just over the dunes.
